STRENGTH & POWER TESTING - Become Stronger!
Our strength & power testing protocol include a variety of key tests that are indicative of performance for all stages of child/adolescent development. We use gyroscope and accelerometer technology to gain key data variables that inform programming and monitoring. We also assess key injury risk areas based on your injury history to minimise the risk of injury, with a focus on reducing growth related injuries.

MOVEMENT PROFICIENCY & MOBILITY TESTING - Move Better & Smoother!

Our movement proficiency & mobility protocol assesses the key movement patterns important for athletic performance. Your mobility is tested to gain valuable data metrics on any restrictions that may be limiting your performance. This facilitates specific programming that addresses these areas to ensure you move better, without restrictions.

RUNNING GAIT ANALYSIS TESTING - Enhance Running Efficiency & Stop those Niggles!

Our running gait analysis testing protocol uses gyroscope technology and video analysis software to identify the areas of your running performance that may limit your efficiency, increase shock loads and ultimately reduce performance. Our data-driven approach allows for key interventions that address running gait deviations identified to help your become more efficient.

GROWTH & MATURATION TESTING - Monitor Growth and Indvidualise Programming to Reduce Injury Risk!
Our growth and maturation testing protocol uses the gold standard in anthropometric assessments and evidence based equations to monitor and assess a child's/adolescent's growth and maturation. By analysing key data points we can estimate the age of Peak Height Velocity, allowing for specific programming to enhance athletic development and reduce injury risk.

We gain data during our protocols on a variety of metrics important for youth athlete development and performance:

  • Motor Control: Described as the initiation, grading, and regulation of movement involving the musculoskeletal and nervous system.
  • Strength Capacity: Also described as strength endurance, capacity measurements and programming assist in improving fatigue resistance of muscles.
  • Peak Height Velocity: Peak Height Velocity (PHV) refers to the period during which an adolescent experiences their fastest rate of growth in height during puberty. It is a key indicator in growth and development studies and marks the most rapid growth phase in a child’s height. PHV typically occurs during the growth spurt associated with puberty and is used as a benchmark to assess physical maturity.
  • Apophyseal Injuries: Apophyseal injuries are injuries that occur at an apophysis, which is the growth plate where a tendon attaches to a bone. These injuries are common in growing children and adolescents, as their bones are still developing and the apophysis is a weaker area compared to surrounding structures like tendons or muscles.
  • Running Gait Deviations: A variety of deviations may be present during the running gait cycle that contribute to reduced efficiency, performance and increased injury risk. These are assessed through our IMU and video analysis technology.
  • Proprioception: Proprioception is the neuromuscular system's ability to sense the position, movement, and spatial orientation of the body and its parts. It is mediated by specialized sensory receptors known as proprioceptors, located in muscles, tendons, ligaments, and joint capsules. Proprioception is integral to motor control, postural stability, and coordinated movement.

Our 60 minute testing includes a discussion about current training, performance goals & injury history, isometric strength testing, dynamic strength testing (including force-velocity profiling), jump & reactive strength testing specific for athletic performance. MOVEment & mobility testing

Our 60 minute testing includes a discussion about current training, performance goals & injury history, functional movement screening, mobility testing, dynamic stability and balance testing specific for athletic performance. Full report included along with key recommendations.

RUNNING GAIT ANALYSIS TESTING

Our 60 minute testing includes complete running gait analysis testing using our inertia measurement units and video analysis software to identify key areas of inefficiency and increased shock loading, impacting running gait. Full report included.  

GROWTH & MATURATION TESTING

Our 30 minute testing includes an assessment of key joints, tendons and ligaments, various anthropometric tests and data evaluation to assess growth and maturation status. Full report included.

PERFORMANCE PHYSIOTHERAPY TRAINING CONSULT

Our 45 minute performance physiotherapy consultations include gym-based training based on the data obtained during testing along with maintenance physiotherapy treatment to reduce the risk of adolescent injuries.
